This
page provides details of, and access to, the application forms to be
used for immigration applications or applications under European law by
overseas nationals who are already in the United Kingdom (UK).
You have to be in the UK to make any of these applications.

New
application forms for most extensions of stay and indefinite leave to
remain in the UK , or to have existing immigration status transferred
to another passport or document, were published on 2 April 2007.
The new version of Form FLR(IGS) was published on 1 May 2007 and the new version of ELR on 10 May 2007.
You should ensure you use the latest version of the form that is appropriate to you when making your application.

The
application forms on this page are in pdf and can be opened and printed
using Adobe Acrobat Reader software. This software can be
downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website.
All the forms are designed to be printed on plain white A4 paper.
Please make sure you print off and complete the whole form.
Introduction of new rules for people applying for indefinite leave to remain (settlement)
If
you are planning to apply for indefinite leave to remain ( settlement)
in the UK, you need to be aware of the introduction of new rules for
applications made on or after 2 April 2007. These require
applicants to show that they have a sufficient knowledge of the English
language and life in the UK in order to qualify for settlement.

The

Single payment for multiple applications
This
form should be used if you wish to make a single payment to cover a
number of separate postal applications up to a maximum of 25
applications at a time. If you are using this form, you do not
need to complete the payment details in the individual application
forms covered by the payment.
There
is no need to use this form if you wish to make a single payment to
cover a number of premium service applications when applying in person
at one of our public enquiry offices. Please note that personal
cheques must have a valid cheque guarantee card sufficient to cover the
amount to be paid.
This
application form and guidance for completing this application form are
likely to be updated shortly. You should read the latest guidance
in relation to the certificate of approval scheme before applying for
one so that you are aware of the most up to date information which may
be relevant to your application.

Use
form COA to apply for a certificate of approval for marriage or civil
partnership if you wish to marry or register a civil partnership in the
UK. The certificate will allow foreign nationals with limited
leave to remain in the UK to notify a registrar that they intend to
marry in the UK.
If your application for a COA is granted, this does not give you leave to remain in the UK.
Applying for an extension of stay in the UK
The following forms should be used to apply for an extension of stay in the UK.

and guide FLR(S) - extension of stay as a student,
student nurse, prospective student or sabbatical officer, or to
re-sit an examination or write up a thesis

The international graduates scheme replaced the science and engineering graduates scheme on the 1 May 2007.
Form and guide FLR(FT:WISS) - extension of stay under the fresh talent: working in Scotland scheme
Form and guide BUS - extension of stay as a business person, sole representative, retired person of independent means, investor or innovator
Form HPDL - an extension of stay if you were granted limited leave of the kind listed below following the refusal of asylum.
This form should be used if you have been granted one of the following:

leave for a period of less than 4 years, or periods
totalling 4 years (if you were granted 4 years exceptional
leave in one block before 1 April 2003 you should use form ELR)

Applying for indefinite leave to remain in the UK
The following forms should be used to apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK. Please ensure you download and read the appropriate guidance notes before you make your application.

Indefinite leave to remain in one of the following categories:

If
you are a non-EEA national family member of an EEA or Swiss national
and wish to apply on the basis of domestic violence, you should do so
under European law on form EEA 2 which is available further down this
page - you should not apply on form SET(O).
Form and guide SET(DV) - indefintite leave to remain as a victim of domestic violence
Form and guide SET(F)- indefinite leave to remain as a family member (other than spouse, civil partner, same sex or unmarried partner) of a person present and settled in the UK.
This form should only be used when the application falls into one of the following categories:

a child under 18 of a parent, parents or relative present and settled in the UK
|

·
|
the adopted child under 18 of a parent or parents present and settled in the UK
|
|
·
|
the parent, grandparent or other dependent relative aged over 18 of persons present and settled in the UK

years’ exceptional leave to remain granted before 1 April 2003
following the refusal of asylum

and guide BUS - indefinite leave to remain as a business person, sole
representative, retired person of independent means, investor or
innovator
Form and guide NTLTOC - transfer of an indefinite or limited leave stamp to a new passport or other document
You
can travel with a new valid passport or travel document without having
your leave transferred from the previous passport or travel
document provided that you carry your old passport or travel
document with the endorsement of leave or the letter in which your
leave was granted.
It
is up to individuals to ensure their travel documents are kept up to
date and are valid for travel. The decision to admit a person at port
is made by the immigration officer based on the information and
evidence presented to them.
Applying under European Economic Area (EEA) law
Form EEA1 - registration certificate if you are an EEA or Swiss national
Form EEA2 - residence card if you are a non-EEA or non-Swiss national family member of an EEA or Swiss national
Form EEA3 - permanent residence if you are an EEA or Swiss national
Form EEA4 - permanent residence if you are a non-EEA or non-Swiss national family member of an EEA or Swiss national
Form
FMRS - family member residence stamp if you are a non-EEA national
family member of a person required to register under the Accession
State Worker Registration Scheme
Applying under European Community Association Agreements (ECAA)
From
1 January 2007 the ECAA(Main) form has been replaced by the ECAA(ILR)
form, which is only for the use of those Bulgarian and Romanian
business persons who wish to apply for indefinite leave to remain (ILR)
under ECAA provisions. Those applying will need to have completed a
continuous period of 5 years in the UK in a self-employed capacity and
still be so engaged.

Agreements (ECAA) with Bulgaria and Romania
Form Turkish ECAA (Main) - extension of stay or indefinite leave to remain as a self-employed person under the ECAA with Turkey

ECAA (Dep) - extension of stay or indefinite leave to remain as the
dependant of someone who has leave to remain or who is applying under
the ECAA with Turkey
Form
Turkish employed - extension of stay as an employed person in the UK
under the provisions of Article 6(1) of Decision 1/80 of the
Association Council established by the ECAA with Turkey
SEARCH
